The FLS Trainer System is a device for surgical residents and practicing surgeons that facilitates the development of psychomotor skills and dexterity required during the performance of basic laparoscopic surgery. It is a portable system that can be used in the user’s environment of choice. The FLS Trainer System includes a set of accessories used to simulate specific surgical techniques that have been validated by Dr. Gerald Fried through the MISTELS Program at McGill University.
The FLS Trainer System was developed in collaboration SAGES (www.sages.org) a not-for-profit professional membership organization which represents a worldwide community of surgeons that bring minimal access surgery, endoscopy and emerging techniques to patients in every country. Representing over 6,000 surgeons and allied health professionals, their mission is to provide leadership in surgery, particularly gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgery, in order to optimize patient care through education, research and innovation.
VTI Medical’s development team can customize your surgical training interests. Like the FLS Trainer System, there are many Minimal Invasive Surgery techniques in which simulator training devices can be developed.
